This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how subscriptions to bishop.work and the Bishop application (the “Service”), operated by Nexno Lextech Private Limited (CIN U85307PN2023PTC221261), can be cancelled, and when refunds are available. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.

1. Subscriptions#

The Service is offered on a subscription basis, typically priced per seat per month, and billed in advance for each billing period. Your plan, price, billing period and seat count are set out at sign up or in your order form.

2. Free trials and beta access#

Where we offer a free trial or beta access, you will not be charged during the trial or beta period unless we tell you otherwise. If you do not cancel before a trial converts to a paid subscription, the applicable fees will apply from the conversion date. Beta access may be changed or withdrawn at any time as described in the Terms of Service.

3. Cancellation by you#

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting Bishop. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. After cancellation:

  • You will continue to have access to the Service until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Your subscription will not renew, and you will not be charged for further periods.
  • We will not, except as set out in Section 5, refund fees for the current or any past billing period.

For annual or longer-term plans, cancellation stops automatic renewal at the end of the committed term unless your order form provides otherwise.

Cancelling your subscription does not by itself remove the Bishop browser extension or the Bishop Office add-in from your devices. To stop collection immediately, uninstall the extension and remove the add-in, or disconnect your accounts in Bishop.

4. Auto renewal#

Unless your plan states otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then current price for your plan, until cancelled. We will give reasonable prior notice of any price change that applies on renewal. You can avoid renewal by cancelling before the end of the current period.

5. Refunds#

Because the Service is a digital subscription delivered continuously, fees are generally non-refundable. However, we will consider refunds in the following circumstances:

  • Billing errors: if you were charged incorrectly, for example a duplicate charge or a charge after valid cancellation, we will refund the incorrect amount.
  • Service failure: if the Service was materially unavailable or did not function as described for a sustained period due to our fault, and we were unable to resolve it within a reasonable time after you reported it, we may provide a pro rata refund or credit for the affected period.
  • Statutory rights: any refund rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.

Refunds are at our reasonable discretion outside the cases above. Where a refund is approved, we will initiate it promptly and without undue delay to the original payment method, in the original currency where possible. The time taken for the amount to reach your account after we initiate the refund depends on your bank or payment provider and is outside our control. Any applicable taxes are handled in accordance with law.

6. Non-payment and suspension#

If a payment fails or is overdue, we may, after notice, suspend or limit access to the Service until payment is made, as described in the Terms of Service. Suspension for non-payment does not entitle you to a refund.

7. Downgrades and seat changes#

If you reduce your seat count or downgrade your plan, the change generally takes effect from the next billing period, and we do not refund fees for the current period unless we state otherwise. If you add seats or upgrade mid period, we may charge a pro rata amount for the remainder of the period.

8. How to request a refund or cancellation#

To cancel or request a refund, write to support@bishop.work with your account details and the reason for your request. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond without undue delay. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact our Grievance Officer at prathik@bishop.work.

9. Changes to this Policy#

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by a reasonable means and take effect on the date stated. The Policy in force at the start of your current billing period applies to that period.
